Daniel Schnyder Quartet

19. September 7:30 am

One quartet but seven instruments: with soprano and tenor saxophones, alto flute, vibraphone, double bass and drums, Daniel Schnyder and his men are becoming a tour de force in the history of jazz. For once, he works in an autobiographical sense: Schnyder reveals a good deal of what he has written in the last 30 years for jazz, a virtuoso and always a slightly crazy mix of classical arrangements, Latin American grooves and ethnic music. In addition, there is the “official” part of the programme: well known standards from Coltrane to Horace Silver.

With generous support from the Deutsche Bundesbank, Hauptverwaltung
Nordrhein-Westfalen and the Hotel Nikko Düsseldorf
