What artistic possibilities does an endless length of string hold? It can be rolled up into a giant ball, woven into intricate web shapes or serve as a life line for amazing balancing acts. Cirkus Cirkör’s creative trapeze artists put on a fantastic show, in which string plays a major role. Labyrinthine shapes, sophisticated knots, elaborately woven and strangely entangled knitted structures create backdrops and props for winding bodies to soar in graceful and plucky poses. With each swing of the ropes, with each daring movement, we hold our breath fearing that the thin lines of string might give. Yet in knitted shapes and patterns these strings are powerfully strong and hold everything together. What would happen if the whole world knitted strong strings of peace?
