It’s a very personal story. How do I get up and off my sofa? Do I even want to? Or will I just sit here in the emptiness of my space, holding my head in my hands, trying to ban the ghosts in my head? For they are very much alive, these ghosts, dragging Brahms, Beethoven and electronic music into my space. And performing intricate Kathak steps, wild break dance moves and classical European dance motions. Do I watch their lonely movements or get up and join them? Kader Attou and his ensemble bring new expressions to contemporary dance and new horizons to the world of hip hop. Dancing is survival.
