When is less more and when is it empty? What happens if we lose our sense of direction in a reference system of familiar things? With these “battles of images” choreographer Stephanie Thiersch and composer Brigitta Muntendorf wish to make us think about our state of constant overload. In collaboration with the Asasello Quartett, the orchestra Les Siècles and eight dancers they have devised a ballet noir that roams far and wide across our cultural history. The monumental and devouring as a symbol of the accumulation of power and lack of restraint is artistically intertwined with moments of silent and gentle resistance.
