In his music the Düsseldorf composer and musician Julian Priessen creates microcosmic collages that he both records and plays back. In his debut EP ‘Permanent Shore’ he builds up massive piles of beats, field recordings, noise and song fragments that are then repeatedly cut down by the calming beauty of gentle piano and warming bass. However, this evening is not simply a reproduction of his new EP. As well as the modular synthesizer, Priessen also plays the electric guitar and with Jonathan Kastl on percussion and the Düsseldorf video artist Lucas Grey he incorporates far more sounds and song fragments and then improvises on them both musically and visually. An intimate listening experience full of emotions and atmospheres.
