At The Table - projekt-il

The table is much more than just a piece of furniture: people eat and talk at the table, in cases of conflict they sit down to negotiate, they celebrate, argue and mourn. Eight artists from Egypt, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Germany, Greece, Iran, Japan and Kyrgyzstan around the Düsseldorf-based artist group "projekt-il" search in their video works for breaking points and secret codes of family negotiation in different social contexts. The result is an illuminating kaleidoscope of families in extreme situations that provides insight into personal tragedies, war, migration, but also tells of the longing for the future.
